
Turns Technique Program
Our Turns Technique Program is designed to help dancers build strong fundamentals, improve consistency, and gain confidence in their turning ability. Each level focuses on proper placement, body awareness, technique, strength, and progressively more challenging turn combinations.
Registration Placement Guidelines
- All DANCERS should register for classes based on their age and grade level for the 2026–2027 dance season.

TURNS 1 – Beginner Turns
- 2nd-4th Graders
- Perfect for dancers who are developing their turning foundation.
Focus Areas:
- Proper posture and body alignment
- Core engagement and balance
- Correct spotting technique
- Understanding passé position and relevé
- Strengthening ankles, legs, and core
- Single turns and introductory turn progressions
Dancers will learn the building blocks necessary for successful turns while developing confidence and consistency in their technique.
TURNS 2: Intermediate Turns
- 5th-7th Graders
- 7th Grade dancers’ placement may be adjusted based on registration.
- Designed for dancers who have mastered basic turns and are ready to improve consistency and complexity.
Focus Areas:
- Refining placement and alignment
- Increasing control and balance
- Improving turn preparation and finishes
- Multiple turns (doubles and beyond)
- Direction changes and varied turn entrances
- Strength and conditioning specific to turning
This class focuses on creating cleaner, more controlled turns while introducing more challenging combinations and sequences.
TURNS 3 – Advanced Turns
- 8th-12th Graders
For experienced dancers looking to maximize their technical potential and performance quality.
Focus Areas:
- Advanced turning technique and precision
- Consistency in multiple turns
- Complex turn combinations and transitions
- A la seconde turns and advanced turning skills
- Speed, control, and artistry
- Performance quality and execution under pressure
Dancers will be challenged with difficult turning sequences while continuing to refine placement, technique, and overall execution at an advanced level.
All levels emphasize proper technique, correct body placement, strength development, and safe progression to help dancers become stronger, more confident turners.
COST:
$75 for all 6 classes
$18 per individual class
